Whether you are taking lessons privately or on your own with a piano teacher, prepare yourself mentally and psychologically so that you can improve your odds at being successful in reaching your goals. Be realistic and don’t expect miracles. Learn to appreciate yourself as you do not have to think negatively about your progressing slowly. Everyone leans at their own pace and speed. Respect yourself for that and don’t’ lose sight of your goals.
